A female charged with harassing Kate McCann allegedly recorded her a phone message which posed: "imagine I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has repeatedly claimed she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February 2025.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told phone records and information recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most covered child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I do not need money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The tribunal was advised that through electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who compiled the evidence, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.
