The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of seized Russian holdings to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They clarified that the initiative would be executed in tight collaboration with the United States.

British penalties have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, resources sent to Ukraine using Russian assets had only been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to advance efforts toward using the full value of the immobilized Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He noted that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration follows EU officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to consider utilizing immobilized Russia's funds for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump urged international partners to take or utilize immobilized Russia's funds, as reported by news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were killed and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the strike, Ukrainian officials reported.
