Much like the recent storm swept through the northern region the prior day, Manchester City swept Manchester United aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they reinforced their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Losses for Manchester United

This result marked back-to-back league defeats for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, placing them seven points off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.

United’s capacity to balance domestic and European soccer with a thin squad has been a widely debated subject since they secured entry to the UCL.
