Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards and O'Neil represent the early names in the frame to succeed the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday after the team's 10-match winless beginning to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the Wolves leadership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would create a potential hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played over a century of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is said to be a strong candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the Wolves board as they begin the process of hiring a new manager.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a unexpected contender, even though he would be a surprising appointment given he was released by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham United player is out of work which means the club would not be required to pay any compensation.
