Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
